This guide will take you through granting Gapwise Consulting access to your Google Search Console account.
Google Search Console is a free service offered by Google that helps you track, manage and troubleshoot your site presence in Google Search results. Google Search console will help you better understand your website’s performance across landing pages, keywords and geographic regions (by country).
If we are managing your SEO account we will require full access permissions to the relevant Google Search Console property. Required tasks may include basic setup may require submitting sitemaps, adding disavow, and verifying technical fixes, all of which require full access permissions. In the case that Google Search Console is not linked to your Google Analytics, we will require ‘owner’ status, or you can link the accounts yourself.
If this is for data insights only, then ‘Restricted’ access is usually sufficient.
You can grant access to your Google Search Console account by following the steps below. If you have both an HTTP and HTTPS version of your property, please provide access to both.
Log into Google Search Console by visiting https://search.google.com/search-console
Ensure the correct property is selected by clicking on the dropdown in the top left. If your website doesn’t exist, either Gapwise Consulting can create the property or you can create the property yourself and continue with the rest of these steps.
Click on the settings menu option in the navigation pane
Click on ‘Users and permissions’
Click ‘Add User’ (top right). If you are requiring us to manage your SEO account you will need to provide ‘Full’ access permissions to ‘[email protected]’. If this is for insights only, then ‘Restricted’ access to ‘[email protected]’ is usually sufficient.
